Description:

The Egg Subfractions test is designed to detect physiological sensitivity to the two components of eggs: egg-white and egg-yolk. These two subfractions of egg are tested separately in order to determine which subfraction causes the undesired physiological response. The report returns with a positive or negative response to one or both of the subfractions; the positive responses imply sensitivity. That is, if a test returns positive for egg-white, the patient has a sensitivity to egg-white and should only ingest egg-yolks. If a test returns positive for egg-yolk, the patient has a sensitivity to egg-yolk and should only eat egg-whites. This test is especially helpful for those who are known to have a general egg-allergic reaction but desire a specific analysis.
